I’m a travel enthusiast at heart, but keeping up with a traditional travel journal is exhausting, and sharing my entire location history with massive tech companies didn’t sit right with me. I wanted a quick, effortless way to look back and see exactly where I’ve been, how many countries I’ve crossed off, and what I did while I was there.

To solve that, I built TripTale Map. It’s a seamless, visual travel companion that builds a map of your life’s journeys completely automatically, while keeping 100% of your private data locked safely on your own device.

  • Self-Hosted Immich Sync: If you’re a self-hosting fan who prefers Immich over Google Photos or iCloud, TripTale includes a background sync engine to pull your photos straight from your home server.
  • Sharable Travel Books: Easily preview what your digital journeys would look like as a physically printed coffee-table photo book.

  • Database: Isar (lightweight embedded database for local storage)
  • Maps & Location: flutter_map powered by OpenStreetMap, backed by a smart local caching system for offline lookups.
  • Integrations: Native device photo scanner and a custom sync engine for self-hosted Immich instances.
